Security

Our site continues to be secure: When you make an online booking you may notice this by the “https” header in the URL address..

Control

You always have control:  We retain only minimal data on our clients, usually just name and provisional booking dates. This occurs only when you are making an enquiry or booking, after which we respond usually by email and occasionally by telephone / sms text if you have supplied a telephone contact number.

Personal Data

The data we collect from you is basic information such as your name, provisional booking date, and deposit payment date only. This is stored on our system in order to carry out HMRC tax calculations normally required for each financial year.

Other data including email address, telephone number and postal address data is collected through third party affiliations we have such as Booking.com, HolidayLettings.co.uk, Airbnb.com, and Beds24.com, only if you decide to proceed with the booking process.  We do not store this data on our own system. We use this to communicate with you, and we do not rent or sell your email address or other contact information to anyone.

We may have offerings through third parties but these are through our website advertisements only, and you have control of whether or not to view these offerings.

Financial Data

We do not collect your financial data if payment transactions are made using  credit/debit cards or Paypal as these transactions are handled via a third party service, namely Paypal. With Paypal, you have a separate Privacy Policy and Terms of Service which can be found on their website.

In the case of refunds relating to a deposit, as a result of booking cancellation, clients may wish to use online banking services such as BACS or FPS (Faster Payments Service) to receive payments, In this case we require your bank account and sort code details and these are deleted after the transaction is completed.

GDPR

While we only collect a minimal amount of personal data, we have worked hard to ensure our policies and practices meet the high standard for data privacy introduced by the new European Union data protection law, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (or GDPR), which goes into effect on May 25, 2018.

Terms of Use

When you use our website or any of our services on or after May 25, 2018, you will be agreeing to our updated Rental Policy and Privacy Policy which can be found on our website www.rosecottage44.co.uk.
